Dang, too bad this isn't formatted for a 16:9 resolution. XD I'd love to use it as a background, but it'd fit horribly.

Question! How long would it actually take you to draw something like that?
Sketching?
Coloring?
And then shading?
All together.

Dreamkeepers In reply to FeretStudios [2009-06-21 21:40:03 +0000 UTC]
Ooh, good question. Let me think...
Sketching the blue-lines can take awhile sometimes -but with this there were no structures or buildings, so I was able to fudge all the perspective into 'Looks good to me!'. Sometimes bluelines take some work if I have to construct perspective and all that fabulous stuff.
So on this, I'd guess the blue lines took maybe 3-4 hours of work, not counting security patrols ('Cuz I do a lot of work when I'm at my night job).
The finished pencil lines probably took between 4-5 hours or something like that.
Liz did the color blocking for me, and I know that the detail work on the backdrops and such takes a lot of time. It's one of the hardest jobs, it took her probably at least 8 to 9 hours to get all the blocking done.
Shading took maybe like 4 hours for the basic lighting, and then 4 more for the prettification, special effects, and water. So, total...
Ook - that explains why I was doing commissions for 9 months, doesn't it?
