Description They are very similar to one another, both in term of appearances and natures. Both of these Pokémon are absolutely devoted to their trainer, so much as they would give their lives to protect them from danger. Could you not ask for better loyalty and love in a Pokémon? They have totally opposite methods of attacking their enemies. Gardevoir focuses more on Special attacks, whereas Gallade is more melee-oriented.

Gardevoir’s Pokedex entries: Gardevoir has the psychokinetic power to distort the dimensions and create a small black hole. This Pokémon will try to protect its Trainer even at the risk of its own life. To protect its Trainer, it will expend all its psychic power to create a small black hole. (Sapphire and Platinum)

Gallade’s Pokedex entries: A master of courtesy and swordsmanship, it fights using extending swords on its elbows. When protecting someone, it extends its elbows as if they were swords and fights savagely. (Pearl and Platinum)

It’s not just the above topics that impress me. Gardevoir alone impressed me by its unparalleled beauty. It looks somewhat like a ballroom dancer, or a guardian angel given its devotion to its trainer. All it’s missing are the wings and the halo. Part of me also sees a bit of Rosalina in it. Gardevoir sometimes appears in Brawl when players throw a Poke ball. It creates a massive circular barrier that protects its summoner (and its teammates) from projectile attacks.

To get Gardevoir added to your roster, simply level up your Kirlia to Level 30. Its gender does not matter, but a male Gardevoir will likely have an identity crisis, like the female Mr. Mimes (please don’t explain that one). My Gardevoir is female, thank you.

Gallade is an entirely different story. You must have a male Kirlia and expose it to the Dawn Stone to evolve it into Gallade. What you get is a Psychic type who is also a Fighting type a trait normally not occurring in Psychics. Nearly every attack he learns takes advantage of his muscle. This type pairing makes it easily able to overpower the Dark and Steel types which hold the Psychics at bay. Gallade’s appearance is based on knights of Roman gladiators, most noticeably on his “helmet.”

I always have Psychic types in my party in every version of Pokémon, but Abra and its line don’t impress me as much as they used to. They’re too frail against physical attacks (including Fighting, which they resist) and they can’t learn all the cool moves I had taught them in previous installments (elemental punches). Plus, since nobody around me plays, I’m not able to do trades, so Alakazam is out of my reach. I needed a replacement, and the two Ralts I encountered answered the call. Best of all, one was male and the other female, so I could train both of their final forms. They’re not as fast as Abra’s evolutions, nor as powerful, but they have higher HP and defenses, making them better choices against hard-hitting opponents.

I'll have to practice a little more on the shadings. And this was the first time I had drawn Pokemon in ages.

I'm glad you like it

I remember you making girls out of the Eeveelutions. Maybe one day you could do that for Gardevoir.

I actually have a level 100 Shiny Gardevior named Rosalina in my party on Soul Silver. Now if only she knew Spatial Rend

I'm not surprised you named her Rosalina. Gardevoir kinda looks like her in the face!

Wow. Nicely done, as always, Doc.

By the way, seeing that we're seeing the two evolutions of Gardevoir, i wonder which of the two you like best, man.

DoctorEvil06 In reply to shnoogums5060 [2010-03-26 18:00:00 +0000 UTC]

I love them both equally, since I'm training both at the same time.

Although, Gallade has a better move pool, but Gardevoir is just too beautiful to ignore (not to mention using that beauty against her enemies with Attract).

And that Gardevoir is also in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, let's not forget that.

I mentioned that in the description. That was the first time I encountered it (I skipped the Hoenn region where it originated)
