Description 1 hour speedpainting in photoshop, testing my recently-acquired new proart ips 24" monitor. :3 Color calibrating with photoshop still needs to be fixed. Anyways, I feel like I already painted that way more at ease, like the values are way more accurate and easier on my eyes. Lovin' it so far!

Psst, if colors seem off to you please let me know!

This only took you one hour? o_O *cries* I couldn't do this even with a day
I have to agree with mister vortex over there; the atmosphere is lovely! It would prob look very nice on a real canvas on a wall too..

Haha it comes with practice. You should take a look in my gallery way back to 2003... >.>

Yeah it'd look nice on canvas as well in oil painting. It's really a shame that we got a monitor that displays blue and green less than it could be (my newer monitor can display that way better and that means world difference in "feeling" so to speak). It could explain why I avoid blue and green since it looked extremely dull and horrible on this laptop, yet it looks great on my ips monitor (I even see more shades in blue/green thanks to it)... anyways enough of my ramblings! It's a pity, really since red is way too dominated/saturated on normal monitors compared to other colors.

At least with canvas that shortcoming is gone. :3

But if you now start drawing with a calibrated screen, I guess it might mean we -the common folk - won't be seeing what you intended anymore

Yup That's why it's really a pity... I really think that kind of monitor should be a standard nowadays. The shortage of blue/green really annoys me! On a bright side, I got a laptop (dimming/dying, but still usable) screen and my husband's "average" monitor to compare my work with. Actually, my ips monitor comes with normal srgb mode too in case I need to see what we all see. The real reason for this monitor is color and value accuracy. Well worth money either way.

I guess its real value comes when you are designing for print
