To be honest, I always wanted to know if the Jersey Devil legend really is true and that it does exist. Neither man or animal, it is not. If however it is capable of making unidentified shrieks that no other animal can make and be responsible for no man or animal can do, then it is an unholy demon who haunts the Pine Barrens where it is dead quiet according to a documentary on real life Boogeymen; no birds, no crickets, no nothing. If there really was a Mother Leeds who cursed her thirteen child by shouting for it to be a Devil, this is all her fault and now that demon lurks and stalks anyone that dares to encounter it. We don't know if deep within there lies a tortured soul in a cursed figure trying to reach out for help, but those that see it run away in horror every time, like Frankenstein, its only goal is to now cause fear to cope with its eternal solitude. While that theory is doubtful, it still remains a mystery to this day. One look at that creature and you're never the same again. And if thirteen is an evil number according to legend, then maybe it was never human to begin with.
