Description "Laprida and Annie, stand their ground against an army of sharpedos"

little FIXes:
-mute button (norm, low vol, mute)
-rotation more smoothly
-getting hit is more visible
-hittest is better IMO maybe a little easier
-Sharpedo's SFX doesn't "stack"

awsd or arrows to move mouse to fire.

So... It's been while, but I've been really busy.

Here's is 3 days of rushed flash study. Basically I made a really common kind of game.

I like to learn by trial and mistake along with some guides that I rarely finish reading before I start coding.

It's incomplete but I'm very proud of what I accomplished in such a short time. I was trying to learn many basics about games, for a game I'm trying to finish for halloween.

I choose kirikizan (bisharp), just in case I get choosen.

Anyway, sorry about the lack of a mute button, I''m still working on that.

well there are two ways. One is adding it to the stage file>import>import to stage and choose the file.
the other is through script, explaining how would take to long, try googling "sound on AS3" (or AS2 acording to what you use).

Be careful though, make sure the music is not copyrighted or that you have permmision use it to avoid any trouble. All the songs I use are royalty free or from sites like newgrounds.

Well I'm trying to learn AS3 since it's the newest. I simply look for tuts on the net. Sites I found particularly useful though are FlashGameTuts [link] , FreeActionScripts [link] (many .fla files) and [link] for specifics

It's a fun game. My suggestion would be 1) add a mute button, but 2) use a different, shorter, sound affect. It'll make the game a bit more concise.

1) As I said I'm still working my way around that. (sharpedo just wouldn't stop crying)

2) I just used sharpedo's cry because of time running out. But your probably right.

I realize the whole time running out thing. I just think that if the noise was a bit quicker it would flow more easily. As it stands, when you shoot the Sharpedo in rapid fire, the sound effects eventually overstack, so it's hard to tell when you've hit a new target.

Also, something I just thought of, having a special noise for when you lose a life could be helpful. I hadn't even realized I had lost my first life until quite a while after I had lost it.

But, these are just constructive criticisms! Thor knows I couldn't make something like this. Color me impressed.

Yeah I understand and appreciate any constructive criticism. I already made progress on that by the way. But it can be really tiring to go over all the sounds fx I got floating around in my PC. This "beta" is missing gettingHit, dying, shootSfx, and other sound FX I honestly was to tired to look for and program (still trying to decide which takes longer). And because of the time difference I thought I was already late.
