He practically died twice with me, once in my heart when I lost interest in his work since "Invincible" and went on with my life pursuing other musical interests, and the second time when he was 'reincarnated' once more on me just to die of a freakin' heart-attack >__< So that was like a double-whammie I didn't need.

OH MAN.
When I saw this I started thinking "Billie Jean is not my lover!" And once I clicked on it, my iPod started playing it. < 3
Michael Jackson was the bomb. It's not silly to miss him. : D

I have listen to at least 10 of his songs per day. His death reminded me how great his work really is

I have felt the same way about fictional characters, and cried myself to sleep over their deaths, ST. If that's not stupid, yours definitely isn't XD

As long as people remember him and listen to his music, he's never really gone.

I think he was a cultural idol. Personally, I'm not a big fan, but he was a part of a generation, whether you loved him or hated him. He was an integral part of our lives and culture, he was a defining part of the times.
I gues it's a bit like losing a piece of cold or your first remembered toy. They just MATTER.
I hope you can get over it <3
