You should tell them. Probably not too much about the new guy at first (it could hurt), but that you are happy and not regretting this and not angry at that person. Maybe they still care for you and would like to know. Maybe you could be friends.

last year, before I left for camp, I was sick of people treating me like crap [boyfriends, mostly] so i said i wanted the perfect guy. One of my really good friends promised he'd be that one. He dumped me over myspace while I was at camp. I had no internet access whatsoever. I came home broken hearted, and met the man who had the duct tape :]
