Description I made this Alice dress for my Holly, I did it very cheaply and thought I would share how I did it.

1. I bought a secondhand bridesmaid dress (eBay - 99p)
I measured the length of skirt required from hem up
and cut it off. (unpick the bottom of the zip you can still
use it - saves buying a new one)

2. Cut the length of the jacket top required allowing for a
point at the front.

3. Reattach the top to the bottom, gathering the skirt to fit
the waist. Un pick the back seam and reinsert the zip a
bit lower down. Add a row of buttons.

4. I bought a roll of 40cm wide organza (approx £5) and
traced the embroidery patterns with a fabric marker.

5. The dress had a lining, so I added a strip of gathered
stripey material to look like a fouffy petticoat. (£6 for 2
mtr)

6. I added a strip if lace round the neck and threaded
organza ribbon through.

7. Gather the organza and sew to the lower hem of the
dress.

8. Use some of the organza for fouffy sleeves - take out
the old ones!

9. The whole thing - finished - just add wig and gloves!

Hope it helps someone!

Definitely helps me, I am desperately trying to find the perfect Alice dress for my Wonderland party, so hopefully I can find a vintage, blue, A-line dress, and I'll be set!
