I bought small kits in the beginning. I didn't like the patterns. I started making my own. Here is a very basic tutorial about cross stitching.

YouTube has lots of tutorial videos too......Just do a search for cross stitching.

I do have lots of free amime/game patterns on my site to get you started.

Thank you! She took about 1 month total: 2 weeks for the embroidery on the pink silk alone, and 2 weeks for the rest of the dress/accessories and corset.

I've been sewing and crafting since I was very little, and I took up cross-stitching for a while. Embroidery is like cross-stitch but free-form (since you stitch on regular fabric and not aida cloth or canvas). There are tons of embroidery books and online embroidery resources if you want more information - just look it up

O.o okay there is a LOT for me to learn then... cause i pretty much didn't know ANYTHING of what you just said! XD I pretty much self teach everything... i self taught myself sewing, then pattern making, then knitting (you tube helps), but i don't think it would be smart to do that for embroidery... although I'm just doing the embroidery for the bottom of the Tom Burton's Alice dress (the first one) and MAYBE for my Tangled's Repunzel dress... but i found a way around that...
