Beautiful blending skill. I don't think I will ever blend as good as you do.
This could be a picture from a popular horse book. Well done!!!

Okay. I just didn't want to post this big thing right out of the blue XD
I think the tail's a bit big. It's bigger than the head o_o And my eye is more drawn to it. You've done an excellent job on it, but if it were my manip, I'd tried to have made it a bit smaller/thinner/what have you.
I LOVE that you have a shadow for the horse (It's really good, and most people don't even put shadows at all, which is a pet peeve of mine XD), but the lighting of the horse and the bg seem not to match. The horse has shadows on the right, while the background has the shadows falling to the left. I'd probably be lazy and flip either one to make them match, but if you wanted to, you could work with the lighting on the horse your way. I, however, don't have any experience with that, so... yeah I can't give you any tips there.
Hmm... I'd maybe move the horse a bit more off-center, too. One of the many random facts I have is that in art (painting, manips, photos, whatever), your subject should never be fully-centered, but actually a little more to one side. When your subject is centered, it almost forces your eyes to look at it, and while that's what you're aiming for , it takes away from the rest of the piece. The horse in your manip is pretty good as far as position goes, though I might move it a teensy bit to the right. It'll probably be OK after (if?) you thin out the tail
I hope this doesn't sound harsh!! If it does, it wasn't meant to. Your art is really good as-is, don't forget!

Yeah, shorten. It looks really good how you've changed it, though ^^ I love long tails.
Don't worry, I'm not very good at lighting either xD A tip for shadows is using the brush tool with black as your color and drawing it in on its own layer, then blurring it some and using the layer effects (overlay, soft light, multiply, etc.) and opacity to get it how you want it. I just use that and draw a blob under the horse, but you could make more detailed shadows with it too.
No prob ^^ I know crit is sometimes hard to come by.
