I've never cried so hard at a Pixar film before ; O ;
This is such a lovely piece! I adore these 2 together and it genuinely broke my heart to think about what happened after Hector died so far away from home, how much hurt was caused by that terrible action. I'm so glad they reconciled by the end of the film, OTP goals Q v Q /Β

This is a great picture of both of them. It goes to show how much they love each other despite their conflicts. The only way to make it better is if they were drawn alive.

Thanks! You know, it always hurts to draw them both alive, because you know what will happen to them shortly after. They never got to be together too long when they were alive

Beautifully done! Hector and Imelda have become one of my new favorite Disney/Pixar couples, and I think you drew them excellently. I love Imelda because she is so tough and badass, but also caring to her family and the people she loves. Now I know she was stubborn in forgiving Hector for leaving her and Coco, even after she learned he was murdered, and she tried to hide her feelings, but it was clear to me that Imelda still loved Hector. She wouldn't have called him the love of her life if she didn't feel that way! And Hector never hid anything; he loved Imelda throughout everything. I'm sure they'll live happily ever after in the afterlife.

And OMG, can I scream about how masterfully the transition from hate to love was done!? First she says she can't forgive him, doesn't let him touch her (The Frieda costume scene) then calls him the love of her life while being angry, then denies it half-heartedly, then sings a love song on stage while looking at him lovingly (while going down the stairs), then just freakin' runs into his arms laughing. Needless to say, when they tried to send Miguel back the first time, he put his hands on her shoulders, and she totally let him and looked relaxed. BAM! Done, and without any loud words like "Hector! I see now that I forgive you! Lemme hug you!"
And yes, Hector, the poor baby, still had hope on that roof scene where Imelda found out he was murdered. He looked so heartbroken when she said she can't forgive him... (But then the "love of my life" scene happened..

Exactly, that transition was excellent! And by the next Day of the Dead, they have fully reconciled since she shows no hesitation in kissing him, holding hands as they cross the bridge, then dance together before Hector plays a spiritual version of his guitar with Miguel. And I tell you, I always get a laugh when Imelda slaps Ernesto twice with her shoe, the first one being because he murdered the man she loved. And that's why Hector was touched when she said that, because he felt that there was a chance for Imelda to forgive him after all...and she did.
Anyway, like I said before, excellent work on this art of the couple. I hope you'll consider doing more art of just Hector and Imelda, because I love them together.

And the way she looks at him by the end of the movie, OMG! Starting from that bridge scene and till the end, like when they dance, and then at the very end when she puts her hand on his shoulder as he plays the guitar and just looks at him lovingly again
Didn't it look like Ernesto sort of recognized her though? He was supposed to know her alive after all.Β
Miguel should do the things Hector didn't get to do while alive. And live longer than him, of course.
