Gordon quickly skirted past the Security Guards bickering with the driver. Damn that alarm clock to Hell for going dead in the middle of the night. Now he was over 20 minutes late. Taking into account the Tram times, checking in at the front desk and suiting up for the test chamber, it'd be a miracle if he made it to C33/a by 11. Especially since the memorandum last week required everyone to be on time. The entire sector was buzzing about the latest "sample" being brought in for analysis, and Gordon's team would be the first to take readings. Breen promised that if tests came up 80% or higher, the facility would be swimming in funding money by the end of the 3rd quarter. Which had even the veteran science staff glowing with anticipation.

Gordon could already feel the burning stares of his colleagues once he'd reach Anomalous. The testing phases were supposed to start half an hour ago and he was quickly gaining a reputation amongst his peers as a "slacker" and "layabout" due to his chronic tardiness over the past few weeks. If he didn't start shaping up, government sector work would be a distant memory.

Gordon checked his watch as he entered the tram hub. He suddenly had a feeling that this was going to be one of those days.
