Description I just adore August's artwork so I asked him if it would alright if I did a little doll based on one of his characters. He's such a sweetheart...
Anywho I picked my favorite of his character, shes unnamed at the moment I believe, and attempted to doll her. You'll find the picture I used for reference here . Ok so I know I know.. I could have done better but oh well. I was going to do a background.. in fact I might go back and make her a little background though I think she'd call for something very mecha and detailed. The curls are pitiful.. oh my gosh I'm sooo disappointed in them and I know if I had days more to work on this I would certainly redo them. (Right now they look like a combination of an old judge's wig and sausages.)
Gosh hm.. don't know what else to say. Aside from the fact it took me wayyyy too long to draw and the pose and style probably doesn't suite the character AT ALL. Also I would have preferred having one of my doller friends check it for mistakes before uploading but I've got other projects I need to get working on.
So thats it.. my first fan art for a fellow dever... I can't recommend his gallery enough. Lovely works that are a neverending source of inspiration for doodlers such as myself.

This doll is mine all mine DO NOT distribute in any way without my express permission. (Unless your augustc4.. then have at it buddy.. I made it for you. hehe) Also DO NOT edit this piece.. I know it could use improvment but leave it alone... seriously.. thanks anyways.

Oh Wow! She's Beautiful, I love everything about her from her shading to her colours! But I have to say her hair and eyes are particularly my favs! She's gorgeous!

i wanna ask you some questions: why pixel art always so small? is it difficult to make them bigger? i've no idea how to make pixel art

Well theres alllll sizes of pixel art.. both isometric and non-isometric. I tend to do mostly non-isometric, meaning flat and lacking that 3-d perspective. Making them smaller means they don't take nearly so long to do. lol One excellent example of non-isometric at its finest in much much larger size would be Jaeden's pixel art . I can do larger pixel art like my website layout for instance at Sunrise Mountain but being I draw one pixel at a time using my mouse it can take a very long time. Granted I'm slower than most pixelers... this doll took me about 3 or 4 days. So its pretty simple.. smaller = less time.. larger = more impressive but LOTS OF TIME.. hehe

i must you and other pixel artists to have the patience of doing it! very impressive!!
btw, your webbie is awesome!! i never saw anything like that.. it's very cool that you did it in pixel the waving girl is funny

oh! sowwy.. my bad.. i thought he was a girl cos he was wearing a shirt and i set my monitor screen in 1280x1024 maybe it makes him too small to be seen clearly.. well it's funny anyhow

Hm.. charge? What is this charge of which you speak? lol
Well I actually couldn't sell this or any other doll made on a base that is not my own. I have bases I've made myself however they wouldn't fit the feminine/curvy characters you've made.
(Unless I made some new bases to fit the style of your characters to use for dolls... but dang.. I dunnnoo.. that could be aloott of work. lol I'm lazy..)
I would love to make more though.. your characters are perfect for dolling. She took a while to make but she was fun to do.

That would ROCK.. I would LOVE that. lol Though I have no idea if I could improve much more on my next attempt. Though I'm giving it a go anyways.. I'm making the blue hair character now... gaa her hair is killin' me. haha
My hubby mentioned to me, in confidence (so shhh..), that I MIGHT MIGHT MIGHT be getting a tablet for Christmas. If this is the case I may be able to make bases much more easily. Right now I'm doing everything by mouse (on a blurry computer moniter no less) so it slows me down quite a bit.

So the answer is YES YES YES I would love to do an art trade though I've never done one before so you'd have to fill me in on the details. I could always do with a portrait of yours truly.. done in your own very cool style (if this IS possible hey let me know and I'll send ya some piccies.) hehe

Ok this is my hushing up now.. (I tend to ramble).. make to work on my next doll.

Well its not in our budget butttttt.... my dear old Daddy MIGHT just be able to swing it if he finds a deal on ebay (my chances are good here... hes a gadget man with an ebay obsession.. hehe)
Well let me see if I can find a picture of myself (that I don't despise) and send it your way. You could be as creative as you like but please don't go to much trouble. just some quick doodle would be awesome. Maybe I could even use it for my devID. Just if you have the time and all.. no biggie...

I've got a lot of stuff going on at the moment with commissions and school wrapping up. but I've gotta take time to relax at some point right? doing art for fun is always relaxing and don't worry, I'll find the time

(I know I know.. the doll is more "cute" and far less .. hm cool(?) than his character but I think she .. okay lookin. I bet he won't be.. hm.. insulted at least at my attempt. lol)
