I like your composition of the woman as the main focus, the painting then leads your eyes to the mysterious man or woman with their back to us, and then we notice the descending city becoming smaller as you pear into the distance. This amazing composition creates the feeling that the viewer is actually part of the art piece, we feel that we have some sort of relationship with this woman, for example walking to the movies together, which is what 'weelad' also pointed out. I makes the viewer begin to imagine a story of what this picture may be about. More over, I can see this as an advertisement for a movie, as I can see it would successfully capture the viewers imagination making them wonder what the story is about; they might start to think it's about a woman who finds out this mysterious mans identity, or that the woman is the main protagonist of the story who is good and must some how stop the evil which is the evil man in the cloche. This painting compels the viewer to want to test their hypothesis, and so would be a very good poster. In addition the use of a multitudinous range of the illuminating light spectrum of colour was well used; you have positioned the woman is such a way that the light reflects of her shiny, silky rose shirt and face, giving the impression of innocence, while this contrasts to the strange, faceless figure not far in front of her, suggesting the person to be dangerous, as the unknown can be frightening.

this piece is perfection itself, the myriad sources of lighting give this a feeling busy yet... cold, and impersonal, even extending to the "silver lining" on the woman's face, this is however combated by the softer lighting on the portion of her face that is facing towards us, as if she has just stepped out of a stark sunless world and has just noticed me and is looking at me, really looking at me, observing with real curiosity to the exclusion of all else and that creates a break in the feeling of the two halves of the piece, as if in a world so big and fast that I am insignificant, there is at least one person who feels something for one such as I. What she feels I don't know, it could be that we are lovers walking the road, friends on our way to a movie, siblings on our way home, or, maybe she's just a stranger who thinks i look interesting and nice, or hot (not likely)... whatever it is and whatever she is like to anybody else at any other time she is in this moment genuinely sharing a moment, however small with me.
this makes me feel slightly sad considering how my life is at the moment (read: lonely) but it feels nice at the same time, like a picture of something I want badly enough to fight for it. Thank you for this.
