Description "mutual agreement and support: harmony of interests and responsibilities among individuals in a group, especially as manifested in unanimous support and collective action for something"
from [link]

For thousands of years attempts have been made to unite people in some common harmony, and we don't seem any closer, in fact we are possibly more isolated now than ever before.

The ruling class are rich, so their natural answer is to say 'lets make veryone rich'... seems like a nice idea, until you realise, it's not possible, the planet can't take it.
So at some point in our history, someone will decide, that if the poor can't all become rich, maybe the rich will have to become poorer.

Right now might be a good time. We don't need growth, we have enough if we share it more fairly.
I could be wrong but growth seems to mean greed and politicians seem to be saying 'what we need is more greed' 'a sustainable level of greed'

Perhaps we should stop wasting our time, by distracting ourselves from the real issues.

But then, all of this assumes that we are not naturally 'liquid' with no natural solidartity at all....
which means inherently selfish.

and all evidence points that way

Economists say we need to sustain growth for society to thrive. I don't see society thriving, i see a lot of people struggling, and a lot of people starving and dying for no reason.
And, i just can't understand why some people need to earn millions.
Just because there are are a few people getting rich at the expense of taxpayers, doesn't change the amount of poverty that exists, even within the wealthiest of nations.

I don't think rich educated people have the answers, they just seem to know how to get rich and who does that help?

The ice age is coming, assets will be frozen... they are not moving around very freely now.

Perhaps we need to put our faith not in the educated, powerful, rich or even god... perhaps we should have more faith in ordinary people, in each other.

We need to free ourselves from fear and greed, i think they go hand in hand, and they have been an area of growth, perhaps their growth is one of our greatest achievements.
Do people fear that if they give up what little they have, that they will be left on their own with nothing?
What have those with nothing left to fear?

Solidarity seems like an alien concept, like land to a billion people drowning in the middle of an ocean. Except of course for those who are sailing along in their ships who say, 'send out some life boats, we need more crew'.
