there is nothing left to strive forother than an end to striving
its ok to chase dreams
but these days it seems
people only want the things
they've seen on TV
and if that's what dreams are made of
then there's nothing left to strive for
i never wanted perfection
but i wanted more than this
i liked it when dreams were dreams
but now it seems
there's nothing left to strive for

and have considered perfectionism a rather blinkered and narrow minded approach to life

Perfection doesn't exist in practice, it's just a (nice) concept. People think they will find hapiness in perfection, they think it's something to do with 100% satisfaction.. That's why they start chase perfection, but it's a trap, the only passable/possible way is to aspire satisfaction (this is the only thing everyone can achieve).
