I know what it is like that. If you want so I am one of "them". But now I don't take that junk any more. It's sometimes hard but I feel better without and I think I'm not that bad at keeping myself in balance.
Perhaps is that the reason why I love your related pictures. I can identify myself with them. Keep on the amazing work!

Wow, gorgeous! The description is so true, too. Have a hyper child? Play outside with them! Exercise more! They'll be happier for it. Unfortunately, we can't have THAT in classrooms, so off to get drugged up we go!

I love the shot, but I just wanted to say one thing--
I'm thirteen years old and I was diagnosed with ADD when I was nine. Before I was put on medicine, it would take me hours to do a homework assignment that *should have* taken me ten minutes. Sometimes, I'm not even motivated to do the things I love when I'm off of my medicine.
Not to mention that I can't just grow out of the hyperactivity. Just imagine being thirteen and having brief moments during which you act like you're seven!
So...it's not about the "pharmaceutical companies trying to make a buck off it".

When you say 'equaliser', I think of like...music players and how you can...adjust -stuff- as you please...and that's kind of what the picture looks like~

I agree wholeheartedly with this <3. There is a difference between needing it to concentrate, and using it to shut a child, or anybody for that matter, up.

Maybe it's just me, I don't think my OCD would let me make something like this >_<

Wow, i'm allmost speachless, or at least can't put it into words, or at the very least not the right.
Looks like hell to put them on these perfect spots and all that. I'm tired, so i'm not very creativ in picking good words to discribe what i like about this shot and how much i adore your work.
I'm a ADD patient, or, as i just learned from wikipedia, since i didn't know what the short tag in english could be, it is called ADHD-PI, what ever! ._. So Ritalin is very usefull for me, but i really don't like that image of parents to use medication to shut their childs up so they have lesser work. Kids are full of life, they want to explore and want to know everything, that's just how it is and it is very irresponsible of parents to just say it's ADHD... oh well, i'm still to tired to make a proper understandable statement in english, so i'll just got to sleep.
Anyway, great shot, great idea (great gallery).

hell yea!! I agree hole heartily, I'm a 21 year old with ADD and Dyslexia, been on something or another since my diagnosis at age 7 or 8. It helps and it really pisses me off when I see children being prescribed and there is nothing wrong, or worse faking to get the drug to use or sell.

great shot and idea. that was a matter that worried me a lot, i knew some great kids that were put under those drugs and i feared it would endanger their future or soemthing worse.
i'm glad ritalin was (apparently) forbidden here in brazil.

i agree i have been always a hyper kid...no skool could stand that and always tried to eprsuaded my parents to give me sum drugs... thankfully my parents are not very retarded and denied it.
But its fun how ppl cant stand a smarter and energetic kid just to let him/she be... most ppl think kids are stupid and cant understand stuff, i think its more how you threat them...if you make them stupid they would be stupid... if not then they wont

Couldn't agree with you more. If being happy, being depressed, being angry, being too quiet or too loud are all disorders, where is the line? What are people even supposed to be?
And did you know BLUE EYES are a genetic disorder that prevents the eyes from turning FROM blue to a "proper" human eye colour? If EVEN that is a disorder, what on Earth IS order?

My wife and I agree with your description, and my wife is going to be a pharmacist ^_^, just because its a good future since most people want to just get a pill instead of try and fix what is wrong with them, its actually sad how many pills some people take, some out of necessity, but most are just to counteract the ones that they are taking, then ones to counteract the ones that counteract the first one..and so on 0_o
