Sorry it took so long but it's back!
I've finished reading SONIC UNIVERSE # 5 & 6 and I wasn't one bit dissapointed. I was pleased with how the story is progressing and it's a joy wondering where '30 Years Later' arc can head off to.This is where 'Dawn of Mobius' comes into play, since Sonic Archie doesn't have all the time and human resource to continue the '30 Years Later' arc as much as it wants to I believe that I could get the fans to help contribute and open new possibilities to side stories like this one!
I'll see if I can hook up with and get him to assist me in making a dedicated fansite based on Sonic Archie's new 'Sonic Universe' series. It will be a fansite that archives unofficial 'Sonic Universe' side stories made by fans.
This is where a new wave of talent can share their input and promote the Sonic Universe series - whether you are a writer, drawer, inker, colourist, letterer or even a fan that wants to support it the cause.
What do you guys think? Just a heads up for now - I'll post more details about this idea later. *thumbs up*
P.S. Thanks to for her inspirational comic style, I'm starting to develop a colouring style that will suit me for my future works (including concept art and comics - GRAND HUNTER & Cloud Raiders)

Yeah man I totally desaturated the whole damn thing this time round! LOL! XD I enoucraged myself to tone down the vibrancy of colours and look for any colours that harmonise with one another.
I've still got so much to improve on this aspect...

Unnofficial Sonic Universe comics, huh? Hmmm... think I might try a hand at one or two one-off stories. Know that they'd more likely to be silly and comedy based, as well as more based on the games (since SU isn't fixated on the main Archie universe, for example)

Dude if you can contribute some stories by all means give it a shot. I plan to encourage a team of artists contributing to the cause - we need writers, letterers, inkers, colourists and pencilers.

I just popped by my comic book store yesterday to pick up what I've missed for my monthly subscribed orders of Sonic Archie Comics - Sonic Archie #203 + #204 and Sonic Universe #05 + #06.
Unfortunately they didn't have no.7 yet... I can't wait though, Knuckles saga was one of the best things that ever happened in the Sonic Archie Universe. Just curious as to know where you collection stands Shawn - also whether you know much about the Knuckles saga.

What is the typical delay for receiving monthly issues in Australia vs. the typical US release date?
My collection is very small. I had read the Archie series many moons ago, and forgot that they were still in publication. After reading your reviews I picked them up again and became hooked; but of course now have a much deeper appreciation for the work involved in creating the stories and art. I did scour some of the local shops for back issues, with mostly negative results (that shows how well they sell here)and I currently have issues #187-204. (I think that its back to 187, I'll have to double check on that when I get home. I unfortunately am going to be burning some midnight oil at school this evening). I have Sonic Universe #4-8, so I have the Shadow Saga, but have not seen the Knuckles Saga. Due to my time being nearly completely consumed by work, school, trip photo editing/organizing, and keeping up with the status of the 2016 Olympic Bid; I still have not read #204 or SU #8 yet. But will soon, hopefully...
I also have begun purchasing the archive books for the early issues, but have read very little of them thus far. I think right now I have volumes 0,1 and 6; and will gradually be purchasing all of them from either the downtown Graham Cracker Comics store or Borders. Borders sends out so many coupons with the Borders Rewards e-mail program, that I can purchase them one at a time for 25-40% off retail. I am waiting for a nice DVD coupon to allow me to purchase the recently released DVD Box set for the complete SatAM series from the Borders website, its just one of those "I have to have it" items

The 'Archives' series will give you a humble insight to thier early beginnings - i.e. who, what, where and when - that produced the now.
It'll give you a view of the foundations but not a COMPLETE view of how this villian came to be or how the sibbling and mother of a particular protagonist came into the scene etc..etc...
Granted not all stories were amazing but you need to read up on all issues to gain a full appreciation of the story that is today. That is why this website is helpful.
The Knuckles saga is very unexpected for any fan. The story is more deeper and complex than the plots combined for Sonic's side of the story. And heck it only made it to 25 issues or so. That is why I'm so curious as to how this new Sonic Universe #7 will turn out! I'm really looking forward to it.
Anyways only check those books out when you have the time. I can see you're super busy but when you get the chance, do check it out - there's a lot to learn from the stories itself, it ain't just entertainment reading material.

The writing style of the current issues has enough of a background reference, so I do not feel lost in the story at all. I'm sure I would appreciate it more, as you say if I had read everything up to this point; but I guess I am on the 'see the prequel after the feature format', because there really isn't any way to read everything up to now. However, that link you gave me will certainly help a bit.
BTW, I am really intrigued by your fans of Sonic Universe idea. I bet it can lead to something quite interesting.

I really like your fan comic. I'm all for a site completely dedicated to Sonic Universe. Mabye Archie would take some of the ideas and use them as side storys or something. I think you did good on the color, though this comes from one who never colors his art.

If you can suggest something to replace the rather 'long-winded' dialogue (which I feel is the one on second last speech bubble) then please feel free to send it here and if I like the sound of it I will make the edit (with credit due to ya)!
And thanks for your support on the unofficial Sonic Universe fansite! I will start jotting down ideas for it when my head's busting with inspiration.

This splits it into 2 sentences. There's probably a comma somewhere in the second sentence but I wouldn't know were to put it.

Oh, this looks great! You really managed to pull the colors together, and the glow looks good. (But watch out! It can get out of hand really easily!)I like the paper textures in the BG, especially in panels 1, 2 and 4.

Yeah it can get carried away pretty easily regarding the glows, I didn't want to be too greedy so I played around with the brush input and focus on a balance. ^^
