Your welcome, keep the pics coming.
I've been really busy this summer/fall, and decided to keep myself busy with the decision two weeks ago to turn my basement into a model railroad that will likely consume much of my free time this winter.

Since I got a new camera I've been taking tons of shots but my scanning is falling behind. I've been real busy too. The model RR sounds way cool. I wish I had gotten more into that when I had the chance.

I'm wayyy behind on photo editing. Part of which is due to the fact that another site that I upload photos to will be undergoing some major restructuring and as such, I am holding off on editing photos and in many cases, holding off on taking them as well. With the economy in the doldrums, there isn't a whole lot of high-rise construction to shoot anyway, which is my primary target for pics.
The model railroad began as a accident so to speak. My roomate and I were driving through Berwyn and passed a toy and train shop and then decided we both wanted to go inside. I said "this is a bad idea, because I will now want to unpack the model train stuff boxed up for a decade", and sure enough inspiration struck. Two weeks and a couple hundred bucks later, a temp layout has taken over the basement floor with more on the way. I plan on getting the lumber next week to begin building the tables.
I will also begin hunting for some cheap folding tables to serve as a support structure and may check out some of the 'Used Hotel Furniture' places. Placing MDF or plywood sheets on sawhorses is another option.

I know that train place in Berwyn! I like your hi-rise pics but your regular Chicago shots are awesome as well! Good luck with the layout, sounds like fun.

Awesome gallery especially Chicago, I too take a lot of pictures of buildings (especially downtown (need to post some!) and decaying industrial views) not just trains. If you get a chance: [link] I'd love it if you check out this gallery! Thanks!

Thanks for the comments and the link. A close friend of mine is looking into getting an expensive video production camera, and we plan on doing some small time independent documentaries on the decaying industrial heritage of the Chicago Region.

Sounds like a totally cool project! In my own small way I try to do some of that but I'm pretty busy. My last excursion was on Labor Day! We Went by the canal around Damen, perhaps you saw some of the shots. So much is being destroyed, so quickly. Good luck with the project!

I look forward to viewing more of your gallery. I'm interested in skyscrapers and the cranes that help build them. I have a bit of personal experience with cranes and shipbuilding.
