It's nothing special, I just put Lyra on a nebula and changed the lighting a bit. I'm addicted to space ponies though and had to do it. This is one of my favorite depictions of Lyra, btw. It captures her melancholy extremely well.Β

I guess it's because of the ambiance of the artwork, mostly.
The title of the artwork would also have something to do with it, and Gordon Lightfoot refers to himself as a "ghost no one can see" in his song, which is Lyra is projecting here, I find.

I am going to have to put this to my favorites because I love the coloring. ItΒ΄s downright gorgeous, although I donΒ΄t think that is a correct thing to say taking in count the emotion it tries to transmit...
I really have to highlight the soft light the moonlight provides. I also like a lot how everything looks "foggy"... Everything helps the mood. The sketchy lines also please me a lot, I feel that, somehow, they help the oncept of the train wreck that LyraΒ΄s soul appears to be throughout the whole story...
So, basically, I also adore this, and after being impressed twice and finfing your stuff on EQD, I just decided I have to make a detailed walkthrough of your gallery...
