I'd like to think something like this happened before Korra decided to return to the Southern Water Tribe to recuperate.

It would've happened had Korra agreed to Asami's offer to come back with her
But at the time, I think Korra was subconsciously afraid to have Asami around while she was healing.
Korra was falling for Asami (even if she didn't know it consciously yet ) and probably a part of her worried that Asami would think her weak and look down on her.
Of course I'm sure such a fear was ridiculous, as Asami probably never once thought of Korra as weak (Had anyone asked her Asami probably would have said that Korra was one of the strongest persons she knew)

Nickelodeon probably doesn't have the gumption to end the series on this note, even if they're putting out Book 4 so fast that it's obvious that they want it out of the way so that they can do more of the spastic sea-sponge. It would still be a slick way to end the series, especially since their close bonding really started in Book 3, subtitled Change. It would be an interesting change to show a same-sex couple in a show like this. I mean, it might be endgame if the show's online, but I don't know if Bryke knew when or even if the show would go all-digital. So... who knows?

I have to admit that these two had better chemistry than Mako did with Korra. Doubt the series itself will take it that far...But seeing how Nickelodeon is try to kill this show...Maybe?

honestly by the way the AWESOME season 3 ended not only we have allot to hope from thsi season after a 3 YEARS TIMESKIP (basically a blank check for all kind of twists and changes in the world) but also Korra and Asami moment near the ending (thought we all know it was a very touching friendship moment) gives the korrasami their stuff XD awesome pic btw, faving F3

Could a romantic relationship between Korra and Asami be plausible? I hope society/Nickelodeon is this progressive because they would make a cute couple.
The way they left off Season 1 with Korra kissing whats his face and Asami catching them then having a look of betrayal/revenge was very disappointing and I hoped they didn't lean that way, which they leaned in the exact opposite way which was great and unexpected.
