You Can't Take It Away From MeWedged within my heart
Is a light that I can sometimes see.
It lives off sappy poetry
And you'll never take it away from me.
You see, I'll grip it in my hands
Until it cannot breathe
Just so you'll never, hear me? NEVER
Take it away from me.
It's smaller than a pin prick,
Though still, it sometimes bleeds
I'd swallow it before you could even try
To take it away from me.
It smells like a sigh
And it sounds like a plea
And it sometimes cries,
But you still can't take it from me.
If I turn into salt
And I rejoin the sea
Even then, you could never
Take it away from me.
I know it's not mine to keep
I know it's yours rightfully
But please
Just please
Don't take it away from me.
