Sorna III

Originally a mining planet when the Stark Empire was in its infancy, this volcanic planet is rich in valuable resources and one of few planets that are a source of the metal alloy Gudaium which is one of many commodities that’s traded both on some level legally and mostly illegally both being a lucrative business. The planet became a haven for the scum of the galaxy such as pirates, mercenaries and any and all matter of unsavory elements and individuals during the Stark Civil War. The Breais System where the planet is located is a small lawless region of Andromeda that’s ruled by powerful organized gangs and crime syndicates who are headed by crime lords that often fight for control of Sorna III and the Breais System itself though they’ve been known to team up when anyone say the Stark Empire or TerraGov encroaches on their territory of which the Empire has many times tried to excise and expunge this cesspool of a planet and society from the galaxy but have always been repelled. The crime syndicates that have the most power forms the quasi government that keeps some semblance of order and businesses on the planet moving until the other crime lords try to overthrow the ruling one in hopes of seizing power which can happen at any time meaning rulership can change overnight or even within a few hours. The planet is partially an ecumenopolis with one side of the planet being covered by cityscape while the other is the area with the most volcanic activity and the main areas of the mining operations.

The capital of the ecumenoplis is named Palplos which is the more nicer parts of the planet as the high society live that made fortunes from their illicit businesses while the lower society live in the other parts of the ecumenoplis which is generally called Babylon. Then there’s the most lowest part of the planet called the “Deep Gutter”. The Deep Gutter is a horrible place filled with filth and garbage that’s dumped from the higher parts of the city above and those are exiled from the ecumenoplis are abandoned left to rot and be forgotten. The Deep Gutter is swarming with the worst of the worst of the galaxy people with nothing to lose that kill each other as an exiles every second, minute, and hour of their life down there is a bloody fight for survival. The people in this cesspool of an underworld have regressed and degenerated so much that many have become feral or developed cults with insane and strange beliefs one example being one that believes the sky, sunlight and general surface above is a myth, some even believe that if one goes to the surface and are touched by sunlight will die or be lifted up into the sky where they fall upwards forever. Since the Deep Gutter goes down incredibly far underground spanning into the planet’s mantle it’s no wonder these sad people have such bizarre and irrational fears and beliefs for what else can on believe when they are forced to live in these conditions.

Many and all types of crime imaginable are committed on Sorna III on a daily basis as a routine everyday way of life, everything from trafficking of illegal weapons and technology to drugs and substances across the galaxy to even slavery and many other abhorrent crimes. The most seediest parts of the ecumenoplis are mostly a district of city blocks after blocks of brothels where the skin/sex trade (prostitution) is heavily concentrated. There is about 13,132,090 deaths per year on average on Sorna III.
