BLACK BREASTED LOON

In the loon family, there is a unique bird known as the black breasted loon. It is similar in many ways to the other loons, but this one however is different. It nests in trees. Nesting in the trees surrounding its woodland habitat of the northern hemisphere it escapes most of its predators.

The black breasted loon feeds on a strict diet of fish. Diving out of sight, under the water, it chases its prey with agility that it lacks in the air. Its strategy is so successful that it cant fly very good at all, its wings have evolved so that they are good for swimming and not so much flying...
