Description
I have a distinctly love-hate relationship with this particular character. I love Whisper’s design, I think she has the best design out of all the foxes in the AOFW series. BUT, and this is a big but, hence the capitals, I hate her. There is only one character I hate more, and that’s her son, Plucky.

Whisper in the books is slightly more agreeable than Whisper in the TV series, but only just. She’s selfish, vain, cold-hearted and smug. As all Farthing Wood fans know, Whisper was the main cause of Bold’s death. Now, I don’t like Bold, but he could have done better. In fact, I dislike Whisper so much, I think it’s easier to make a list rather than try to explain myself in paragraph form:

1. She only accepted Bold as her mate because his father was the Farthing Fox. If she was that bothered, why not go to White Deer Park and have it on with Fox instead? At least he has four working legs! >XD
2. She forced Bold to leave the town because she wanted her cubs born ‘near their own family’. Translation: ‘I want to have it on with your father’ (see above).
3. She forced Bold to travel faster than he was able, resulting in his death before he reached the park. Not much of a loss, but she wouldn’t be able to explain herself had it gone to court.
4. She gave birth to idiot Plucky. Enough for me to hate her.
5. She willfully indulges said sprog. Even Plucky is uncomfortable when he’s around her (remember how annoyed he looked when she licked his face?)
6. She says the words ‘My own cub, I’m so proud’ at the end of the third series. My sister and I both went mad the first time we heard her say that. It annoys me!
7. In the books, she goes out and gets herself another mate. It’s in The Siege of White Deer Park, people! Did she really love Bold?
8. Her voice. Irritating.

So yeah, I don’t like her. Some people could answer a few in my list by saying that Whisper was a town fox and therefore only looking out for number one, BUT I say that it’s no excuse. I come from the town and you don’t see me doing the stuff she did! I’m not a fox, but still… However, me being a perfectionist (cough cough), I still put effort into her pic. I always imagined Whisper to be quite leggy and lean, a bit like real town foxes themselves. I’m actually quite pleased with the way the pic came out, too XD. Watercolours, as always. Only one more pic to go and my project is finished! Woo!
