Most of Laran's choices go the traditional 'Good' route? but it's not entirely as clean as such. 'Chaotic or Neutral Good character very adept at Lawful Good when needed', or something like that. During the Cousland prologue he reads banned erotic books. He supported the mages, nothing in particular against the Templar but it was the right thing to do and fuck this whole authoritarian chantry business anyway. Negotiated a compromise between werewolves/elves. The Anvil of the Void got destroyed and Connor was saved with Morrigan's help. I've both killed/spared Flemeth so either choice is valid there. However, he chose Bhelen as king and ruthlessly played poor Alistair and Anora into marriage; Both calculated political moves to gather troops and support (no doubt suffering regret having let his bro Alistair down but still). Loghain was killed. Archdemon killed and god-baby sired by Laran. He also completed the full 'Crime Wave' quest line -robbing your fellow nobles was delightful 10/10 would recommend. And of course, if it makes a difference, his voice was the "cocky" one.

Greatsword in the background is a badly rendered 'Fereldan Greatsword' from DA2, or 'Yusaris' as the model is called in DAO. I'm just terrible at using references while in the midst of drawing.  

DAO is one of my absolute favs and Laran my go-to playthrough (so much I made a run with him in Inquisition as well to great comedic effect) so I'm always super charmed when others find him enjoyable. Thank you for the comment/question!

Thanks for the answers! But one moore question please? What specializations did you choose? Whenever I'm a warrior like your OC was I usually choose Champion, then Templar, then finally Berserker when I play the Awakening DLC. Which ones did you pick?

My pleasure ♥  Again, thanks for asking! I had to go look this up to refresh my memory, oh sweet nostalgia~

He was your typical cliche strength-based two-hand warrior build from the start. Given the noble Cousland origins I choose champion, later followed by Berserker and extra skills The Power Of Blood. Templar doesn't go well with this guy's characterisation so no handy anti-magic skills for me, and by the time 2nd specialisation came around Berserker fit the character development nicely anyway. The Awakening specialisation was Guardian but the visual effects were an eyesore and I never used them. Most of all, I remember my completionist tendencies + having most DLCs resulted in an absolutely bonkers strength stat. Hence why I, laughing, had to start drawing him bigger that I'd done initially. By my second play-thru I'd found the EXP-exploit at Ostagar and capped his level making him a walking unstoppable mountain in Awakening. It was hilarious. Laran remains my favourite Dragon Age OC/PC because he was never meant to be anything but his game overflowed in unplanned situations and choices with unexpected results that built his character. I'm even a bit annoyed by it; I put a lot more pre-game thought into other Wardens and none of them panned out as entertaining as this idiot, not even close. :')

Thanks for the reply once more! My Cousland OC was a sword and shield user. He was exactly as I described him in terms of classes I chose. I had been playing Elder Scrolls games, mostly Skyrim and Oblivion, for years before I even tried Dragon Age (have to thank my brother for getting me started), and, using those games as an influence, I named my Cousland Warden Tiberius (an example of an Imperial name). I had him marry Leliana, made Alistair marry Anora, and killed off Loghain. He, too, chose a more goodly path, and did all the DLC stuff, too.
I liked him the best out of my OCs. And, considering there's reference to the Couslands in the Warden's Keep DLC, I feel the Cousland storyline is the most lore-friendly of the origins. And that includes the Awakening DLC, for Nathaniel is the son of the one who killed your family, and you can reconcile with him. Plus, who doesn't like a story of getting vengeance on someone evil who slaughtered your whole family?
Now that I think about it, I recently made a second Cousland character, and, I kid you not, I made him look JUST like a younger version of Loghain! Hair, stern face, blue eyes, he looks just like that bastard (though with less wrinkles). I even had him name his dog Loghain, as (according to that character's headcanon) he idolized the Hero of River Dane. I had him marry Anora, and (sadly) execute Alistair (a bit of an eviler character.) I also have a character that looks just like Cailan, and another one that resembles Leliana's ex-lover, too! Thank goodness for wikipedias that have pictures for references!
