I'm pretty sure they did, although not in the game. Can't quite remember where though--if it was the manga or just an interview. Doesn't matter much, however. The interpretation is more or less left entirely open to anyone--and so there's lots of ways to interpret the game(s), and all arguments are generally debatable (such as whether Vergil wouldn't ever touch a human woman). Personally, I don't care enough to argue about it.

In the case of this comic: Nero being Vergil's son offers up a great deal of opportunities for jokes, the end.

I know, but it's hard to find anyone who WOULDN'T argue.

Good to know you're like me in this issue. I honestly think that if they skipped years between each installment of the series, then wouldn't it be possible for almost anyone with demon-blood to be Nero's parents? (Or even the mother to be Trish....)

A friend of mine came up with Bradley and Angelina from the Animated Series as Nero's parents, and I once thought SEPHIROTH, not even IN Capcom's character list, was the father because of the hair and eyes. Not to mention that "One-Winged Angel" fits into the fight scenes with Agnus (nicknamed "Angus" by some) and Sanctus.

I honestly discarded the Sephiroth theory... Too far apart company-wise to be logical....

But yeah... Until they finalize it with NO arguments possible, ANYTHING can be said regarding the parents. Besides, I saw one fanfiction where Dante was Nero's father instead. That one was hillarious, so yeah. Others say Nero is Vergil himself reborn, or that Nero was possessed by Vergil.

But I just go with whatever gets the most votes in the end. Besides, I'm the one who can watch anything scary and not flinch, while cute stuff makes me roll my eyes (just how I am), and I've seen FAR worse than this.... JENOVA (an alien life-form) paired with Schrodinger (Nazi Catboy from the anime Hellsing), Jack Harkness (Doctor Who and Torchwood) paired with EVERYONE and EVERYTHING (including Ultimecia (FFVIII) and JENOVA (FFVII & AC)), you name it and I've seen it in some way shape or form.....

And that goes for Nero being friends with Trigonometry (Pyramid) Head.

Usually because they don't want to.

It's stated in-game that Nero has the blood of Sparda. Regardless if he got it by birth or in any other way it's mroe or less certain that's the cause of his white-haired looks, demonic powers, and why he can devil trigger while holding/using Yamato.

As a general rule: If you don't flinch, it's not scary. Outlandish pairings in fandom is hardly something to put under the 'horror' genre.

I know.

And I actually find it fun to watch stuff that other people freak out over. I thought Pyramid Head was just a guy wearing a strange costume the first time I saw an actual video screenshot of it. I just thought that the demon-looking zombie things from the game were just the normal every-day demons from there. My friend from West Virginia thought otherwise, though. My biggest issue would have to be with MLP and spiders... MLP stuff looks strange to me, and spiders either make me want to beat the crap out of them, or back away slowly... Mostly depends on where the spider is...

Anyways, my friends and I agree that my thoughts on what "scary" is are not normal... I LAUGHED during a scary movie that had a whole college audience on-edge! I still don't know why I do that....

Actually in the DMC4 novel, which Capcom has stated to be considered canon, they confirmed that Nero really is Vergil's son. He was born from a brief affair Vergil had with a "street-walker" when he was visiting the Sparda cult on Fortuna while he was still looking for The Sword.

...personally I'm thinking that if Vergil had been able to name Nero, his name probably would have been something along the lines of "Plan B".

...except in the novel there's a moment when his ghost(meaning he really is dead T_T) helped Nero awaken his powers before DMC4, and they had this silent moment, so maybe he wouldn't have.
