Revisiting my youth. Keladry of Midelan--from the only series of Tamora Pierce novels that I really like.Now back to my other painting that is slaying me

Looked at this on a couple of different monitors and realized it was way too dark. Uploaded a lighter version--maybe now you can see the sparrows...Peachblossom's slightly roan coat!

Gives me a chill just looking at it! The frosty breath effect for Kel and Hoshi is excellent, along with the small plants poking up out of the snow.

Thanks! It's actually Peachblossom and not Hoshi. I didn't realize how dark the piece was until I looked at it on another monitor. I'll have to upload a lighter version later when I get home

I was wondering about that, the head is turned away so I couldn't see if there was a star on the snout, so I had to guess. It looks great now.

Awww... I think all the Pierce girls are pretty awesome, particularly after Alanna (Pierce's first series is her weakest, predictably.) Daine's totally my favorite (but then again, I've always wanted to talk to animals, lol). I'm not all that big into romances, but I was in Fangirl Squee Mode when she and Numair finally hooked up.
Have you read any of the Beka Cooper books yet?

Daine had an irritating personality that I couldn't quite get over, but ironically, I enjoyed her character in the POTS series. I've read the first Beka Cooper book and I liked it, but I haven't gotten around to reading the other two. I enjoy a a little romance every now and then, so I was disappointed when Ms. Pierce left the POTS with just the meager-est hint of Kel and Dom 
I'm a sucker for hardworking humble girls tho haha (Love Brienne, and Briennne/Jaime)
