They are just curious, that's all. They wondered what stuff we put in those box and whether we emptied the box or we left something in it.
That reminds me, long time ago while I was moving to a new house. A stray kitten jump into one of my box when I left to refill the cellophane tape (at that time I left the box at my porch). I didn't realised it was in the box and sealed the box. Imagine the surprise I get when I'm unboxing my stuff in the new house. I have to let it go because my dogs will murder it.

Doesn't matter how big, little, wild or tame... a cat is still a cat at heart. xD
Reminds me a lot of Big Cat Rescue's video showing their rescued cats playing with the boxes they give them.
