Well they are. I never would have thought of having a fish use it's spine-fins instead of it's tail for swimming. But it's brilliant.

I am shamed to say I don't know much about jawless fishes gills, but you are right it does have a jawless fish vibe.

well, some have holes that look like mouthes, that are really gill openings, and others have sort of exaust pipe looiking holes that do the same things...
