A concept sculpt. Of Piccolo. My version of the design for the movie. I've tried the giant turban on his head, the humongous brow muscles, the purple pants and blue sash from the comics. Turned out looking like a genie vampire from hell. Some things look great in 2d but just don't work in 3d I think. So I stopped looking at the reference. My current design still doesn't work in my opinion but I like it better than what they've currently got for the live action feature. I'm thinkin they should have made it completely cg animated, without trying to ground things to reality. And it would have been awesome. Awesomer than awesome even. And it would kick epic amounts of ass.Related content

i agree with you 100X over on the some things just don't work in 3D and the dragonball movie would have been 1000X better in complete cg animation, cuz that movie was a fucking dissapointment!!! and even without you adding the pink muscles, red rings around those and the lines on his arms, lower back and legs...he still looks fucking hot!!

Great model! I agree with the aforementioned CGI like Advent Children. This would have been cool to see in a fighting sequence

I really loved your rendition of Piccolo a lot, I actually made him look like yours in one of my paintings I did, if that's okay with you? If not, I'll take it down.

OMFG, this is a million times better than the recent live-action abortion. That Piccolo was barely even green and had no antennae. This is just flat-out amazing. And his pants are so cool, they have this kinda Russian thing going on with the boots that I really, really like.

Agreed. Advent Children quality CG with 3d models styled after the fighting games (which are themselves very true to the 2d designs) would have been awesome.
I would even go so far as to say not make a new story. Just remake one of the old DBZ movies in CG or a condensed version of one of the main sagas (cell, frieza, robots)

lol, i didn't notice it. He was originally shorter, but I changed the proportions and forgot to make the feet longer
