Fiery, loud, and prone to emotional outbursts, Solar Flare is completely different from her twin brother Star Trail. Whereas he tends to follow logical thought, Sully goes where her heart leads. And her heart frequently leads her to places a princess should not be. Like in the middle of the Dragon Lands because "the Flame-cano's eruption would look perfect with the latest filter". Or the Heart of the Everfree forest because Sully wanted to be the new Neighel Thornberry. It's not her fault he made it look so easy.

Sully detests the wealth and "regality" of her home. She feels it separates her from her other ponies. I mean, why does the Princess of Friendship live away from everyone? Wouldn't it make sense if she was in the heart of Ponyville, in an average house, with average furnishings, and a beautifully average image? Sully also doesn't like how "stuck-up" her family of smart-asses can be. So she made it a point to learn as little as possible, much to her parent's disappointment. They've tried over and over to get her to study, but she saw through every one of mama Twilight's strategies. Or just took the flashcards and turned them into a flip note animation (a zombie attack one is her pride and joy.)

When she was a filly, Solar Flare wanted to be the best flier ever! Partially because it sounded fun, but mostly because her brother was planning on becoming the best unicorn. She wasn't gonna let him upstage her after all. From all that practice and private Wonderbolt training, Sully is a phenomenal flier and excels at acrobatic stunts. The skills have helped her escape from more than one sticky situation. Her next "dream job" was an archaeologist/explorer like Daring Do. Again cause it sounded fun. But she got one look at the textbook and decided "Fuck that noise".

Sully's emotions work on an on/off basis. She has no middle setting and can easily go through 7 emotions in a day. Stub her hoof? That table must die! Found a new lens on sale? Dear Celestia, EVERYPONY HAS TO KNOW THE GREAT NEWS!! The only pony who's able to keep up with this tornado of emotions is Misty Trees.

Relationships

*Twilight Sparkle: Sully and her mom have a tense relationship. It's not that she doesn't love her mama, (Sully loves her family to pieces), it's just that most conversations end up with how Sully's wasting her potential.

*Sunburst: Solar Flare has a slightly better relationship with her dad. He always let her zone out during "mandatory reading time." But they never really found a common interest, so most conversations end up being small talk.

*Star Trail: Annoying her baby brother (by 10 minutes) is Sully's second favorite pastime. It's just so easy to push his buttons! But actually spending time with him? That'd be a no. He is the "perfect" twin, the one her parents silently compare her to. The one winning award after award for how perfect and smart he is. Honestly just being in the same room makes Sully feel inadequate.

*Misty Trees: Sully's most bestest and closest friend. Misty's quiet personality balances out Sully's... flare. The little mare is more than happy to follow Sully to the ends of Equestria. And carry her things. And set the scene. And just quietly sit next her friend while she talks for hours and hours.
