It didn't photograph well, the colors are a bit off, especially in the sky.
It is a special piece to me, I remember painting the sky with about 5 major layers of thin glazes of paint to give it a feeling of depth. Unfortunately that doesn't really show in this photo.

I was trying to copy the way the Great Masters used to glaze their paintings with color after laying down the monochromatic base.
I use Acrylics!
I hated waiting for the oils to dry.

lol I prefer oils for that reason since when I actually do a piece I like to go back and fiddle with previously painted portions.

That is one great bonus of oils.
Acrylics, on the other hand, dry almost instantly making for other challenges.
