This is a very beautiful piece! On the first page of comments someone pointed out a/the phoenix and that's the same thing I was thinking. It reminds me of a very rare Marvel collectors card from the first Marvel Masterpiece card set (drawn by Joe Jusko) of the Dark Phoenix (red outfit.)

It was such a beautiful card and I never had the chance to get one (the card set was expensive ) but honestly-and I really really mean this-this piece is so much better then that card. The image fits the quote at the bottom perfectly.

I saw you Axel piece featured on someone's journal and had to see the rest of your gallery. I want to apologize for so many faves also. Your work is beautiful!

Excellent piece of work. The fine lines mixed in with the thicker, blurrier lines make a nice contrast that still compliments the overall piece, plus the colours are warm and vibrant. I like.

*faints* I CAN'T believe this has only gotten 10 faves (so far). This piece is really awesome - the way the lines radiate from her, the warm orange glow, the hair, the shines and subtle-translucent shading - EVERYTHING, in fact -- it's all really good! The detail is amazing too, I can't get enough of the hair and the way the body is drawn. And that little lens flare, too. =3

A slight thing that bothers me about the picture is the pose - if she was in pain, shouldn't the body is arched? Or at least, the head raised? But hey, it still looks great as it already is. You did a very good job on the colors, even if it's single tone.

*Raises hand* I opt to see a phoenix in this, as it fits the subject matter perfectly... (and maybe a tiny bit of personal bias on my part... ) such a gorgeous artwork with a beautiful conceptual meaning! The individual strands of hair and feathers have been so wonderfully drawn with different warm shades, light and shadows - I could look at them forever just tracing each from its source... *___* I love how the hair and feathers are not static but in the way that you've given them different depths and thickness, they seem to be floating and waving so softly in the air as the character rises. I adore rebirth pics like this, it's a truly fantastic artwork and it's great to see yet another beauty arrive in your gallery! *Asks humble leave to fav*
