Such a great render! I could never do that. May I ask, what are all the runes? I see eoh and ur and feoh, but I don't recognize the two foremost. It looks like the middle one that's heavily in shadow might be wynn.

You know im good at spotting a CG, you know i like realism myself but you really got submitting these photos *tut tut tut
Only thing i might have done myself is add a very very very fine noise layer in PS (0.7 - 0.9) , do that and you really wouldnt pick it from a photo.

nope.. all of my renders from a point are cinema 4d.. i just use the built-in shadow engine for the shadows.

what software did you use? finalDOF or XDOF are in the list?
I think your stones bag are bit too shiny/reflective his material doesn't like real a bag model.
All the rest are really good I love the idea, that sort of alien stones need to be dismystified!

i rendered the scene fully in Cinema 4D using its own DOF filter
