This would make a nice textile, lots of your art would.
A sundress, maybe a necktie, I'd wear it. The tie I mean ;]

You're right...I would wear it if it was a hippie skirt!

Actually it is kind of funny that you say that.... what I was thinking of when I made it was a friend of mine from grade school.

The first time I went over to her apartment I was really surprised by the look of her home. On the outside the apartment was very plain... dumpy even, it was a square brick building sitting at the edge of a Senty food store.... but the inside of her apartment was like a different world.... I live in Milwaukee, most furnishings around here in the 70's were some combination of brown carpeting white walls and oak furniture....
However...
Everything in her apartment was dark and patterned -reds purples and deep blues...trimmed with gold detailing.... Her family was  from Russia and it felt like I stepped into a fairy tale world when I went there. No one but Irene spoke English and I thought that was so cool.... he he he ....she got away with a lot at school because she handled all the translations herself.
Anyway I think I still use that apartment  as my benchmark for cool... and I respond most to the patterned rugs and textiles.

The other cute story with her ..... she was 2or 3 years older that me  .... but because of the language difference she was in my grade level. Once her verbal skills improved she was moved up to her appropriate age group... at that time she also transferred schools. So I didn't see her all that often.
After a long gap we decided to get together and go roller-skating .... When I met her at the rink our parents dropped us off... I was surprised right away because she had grown a foot or so taller, but the real surprise came when she immediately pulled me into the bath room to change clothes. She put on Makeup and fixed her hair and put on a tube top and a sequined miniskirt.... and it wasn't just that,  she had the body to fill them out too.... I had been left in the dust.... there hadn't been that much difference between us when I was 7 and she was 10 ..... but she was  a mature 13 or 14... and I still seemed like I was 8 ...... it was eye opening. I realized I was a child...... it was sad....
The way she looked at the rink that day may be my benchmark for what a cool sexy teenager should be.... but I never even got close to emulating that. LOL

Your hat feels snazzy on you
The decorating job sounds like something I might like. My mom's side of the family is Polish, sounds a little like my great aunt's and uncle's house. It was always very dark, which I loved (except for the kitchen with the cuckoo of the clock watching over lil' smokies on the stove).
Roller-rinks were never part of my youth. I don't think it was a thing in my neck of the woods.
If it was no one told me. But, I can totally imagine the scene just from movies I've seen ")

When I look over and over at your colored pieces I'm starting to want to go into colors myself. Just to check how it would all look like. Yet, I know I'm terrible with colors... I really like the reds and blues here. It has definitely more light  than the previous one.

The event... Could you explain?

I feel terrible with colors too .... even when they work out I'm not sure why... and I still have huge failures.... Color just isn't natural for me.... but I will keep working.
I guess I could play around with digital color to try and learn... but I don't know that digital work is exactly second nature for me either... I like the feel of things so much I think it would be hard for me to transition. But, I might play around a bit just to experiment.
