I haven't made one of these in years after doing near on a dozen for friends and family in a relatively short space of time.Β About a month ago, my MIL asked if I was still doing bead stuff and would I make one for her to give as part of a Christmas present.Β Having procrastinated, I am now sitting here looking at the size 8s I've retrieved from my stash and trying to remember how many rows there are in the body.
Your little dragonlets are still going strong in the UK ChimeraDragonfang Β

I did this with string first. (let me just add that I haven't done any beadwork of this complexity for years.) It took a long time, mostly because I suck at beading in general and I had a little trouble with the weaving in the wings. However, I then tried it with wire, and it worked beautifully! I love this pattern, and you are awesome for posting such a nice PDF and everything!

What a delightful little dragon. Sadly I only had one decent needle. I pondered your pattern for a bit and starting at the tail picked up all the beads for the body at once. At the tip of the nose, I turned and I started back thru each row, adding the legs and claws at the appropriate rows. For the wings I picked up all the beads, except the little wing tip beads, turned and went back thru the rows. I added the little tips as I zig zag stitched back thru the "spokes" in the wings to tighten them up. Thanks so much for posting this pattern. Something cute to make with all my leftover beads.

Everything on one strand in one go? That's impressive. I've done that once or twice for other pieces, and it's not something I'm in any hurry to do again.

absolutely beautiful! I want to make one of these for my wife. Is there any bead size in particular you used? It would be an amazing ring!
