I will never forget when I first traded my Venusaur to the Gold from the Red Version of Pokemon (because it was the first time you could breed them and find out what sex they were) and I found out my Venusaur was actually a lady after years of thinking it was a dude!
I felt bad because I totally whored her out and made some pretty powerful Bulbasaurs in which to train and trade!

Good work making a venusaur look dynamic! The games always made them look like bulky lumps.

I loved Leafgreen. It was nice having a game with venusaur on the cover.

Bulbasaur was my first ever pokemon also. I remember catching other pokemon but all I used Bulba and it was Venusaur on the [link] , it even managed to take on all of Blaine's gym with out healing.
Awesome pic BTW, I'd say a specific thing I like about it but It's all good.

Nah, its a new one. I forgot about that one I drew in my sketchbook.
I always had trouble with a starter too, that is something about the following 3 generations, not all the starters seem as appealing.

Yeah! I love grassies and bugs myself. Between Venasaur and Butterfree, the rest of my team didn't really matter. Except for maybe my Veporean.
Excellent job!
I wish there was more Venasaur stuff back when I was a "poke-nut" too.

That's what made choosing a starter so hard for me. I love dinosaurs/reptiles/dragons so what with Bulbasaur being a dinosaur, Squirtle being a turtle, and Charmander being a lizard/dragon it was the hardest choice of the game.
But I went with Charmander.

Squirtle and I were always homeboys but bulbasaur and his bros were a close second.

VENASAAAAAAAAAUUUURRRRR!!
xD He was always one of my favorites, him and Blastoise. I never saw the appeal of Charizard.

Well i can see the appeal of Charizard, but he just seemed a bit plain to me. I mean, ya put a chubby dragon next to a
1. Giant tortoise with water cannons sticking out of its shoulders, which is my favorite. I love blue, and ya can't beat a pokemon with some natural artillery.
2. An unidentifiable amphibian with a giant plant growing out of it! Which as you already said can shoot lazors!!
and it just looks kinda..."eh." ya know?

Ah, good old Venusaur. I remember going through a ton of save files on Blue, always picking the little Bulbasaur because I knew it turned into Venusaur eventually. Brother eventually got annoyed, and asked me, "Why are you picking him all the time?" . . . Look at him! How can you NOT want that on your team!? My brother even helped me in Diamond to get a "retro team" of Cubone, Ekans, Pidgey, Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur right off the bat. . . First one I focused on leveling? Bulbasaur, of course!
Awesome work, yet again. Great name for him, as well. (Also, maybe I'm a bit slow -- Pokemon Facebook pictures? I've been switching between Bowser and my Warforged as pictures. . . Did I miss the memo? Lol.)

There really hasn't been much in the bulbasaur family with merchandise >.> The grass starters always seem to be the least liked (from my experience with others at least).
Venusaur's always been my top fave pokemon since Red and Blue days though~
Nice pose you choose for Venusaur here. Really seems to show weight and the bulkiness of it :>

Thanks! Venusar is a little tricky to draw, with those stubby little legs, and that great big head, I'm glad I could capture it's bulk.

Also, Snapdragon is a kickass name!

Nice.
Unfortunately, I had it taken up by my teacher in 3rd grade. She said that I'll get it back at the end of the year, but I never did. D:
