Timmy Sparing of Helena, Montana, wrestles a steer to the ground during the Steer Wrestling on April 19, 2014 in Red Bluff, CA. The goal is to flip the steer over in the shortest amount of time after jumping from a horse on to the steer, Sparing completed it in 7.5 seconds.Do you want to see more rodeo photos? I personally have shot several rodeos, and thus know by experience how hard it is to snap good pictures of those events. I really like this picture because the moment is just right: from the position of the calf and the man, the tail of the calf in full swing, the facial expression of the rider, and, obviously, all the bits of dirt that are flying everywhere.
I have the feeling that the photo had to be rather heavily edited (correct me if I am wrong) to get to this level of contrast, and the overall quality is probably what could be improved: sharpness, less grain (although this was shot at ISO 100), maybe a bit truer colors.
But on the other hand, this gives a kind of raw feeling to this picture, which is in adequacy with the subject.

i might ask him his reason for tormenting an innocent animal until it's worked up into a raging frenzy. he probably does it for 'fun'
my reason for wanting to watch him die painfully is the same as the crowd of Neanderthals no doubt watching this spectacle of animal cruelty.... for fun

You obviously know very little about rodeos. The animals are safe, are not hurt, and should they become hurt, there are veterinarians right on the side lines.

This isn't a Mexican rodeo. The animals aren't beaten, they don't have hooks pushed in to their skin to make them do things. These animals are trained from very early in their lives to do these things, so no, they don't have a terrible fear, it's part of their routine. And at this point, i am done with you after your comments about how my children should be taken from me. Good day!
