Thought ya all might get a kick to see SOME of the behind the scenes rough drawings I did for the Speed Racer webcomic characters I designed, before I tightened the pencils up and colored them. I did these as quick sketches to free up my mind to create differently. I didn't want hold myself back in design. I wanted to try new shapes and new techniques in execution, so I followed it up with microns and sharpie. It was helpful through these designs since I never really did these type of details in designs before. Here's the link to see the final look of the characters.

The minor differences in each form as one glances at the variations vs. the dramatic contrast of each individual character despite similar posing (talking mostly about Racer X and the one I suppose is speed racer, as well as the many variations of er the thicker racer when compared to his other variations) are a testament to the principle that a character's silhouetted form is more important than internal detail.
I'd venture to say that your work tends to be a stunning example of just how powerful that idea can be; Even just standing there most characters you draw look like they're animated. As always your superb stylistic posing and mastery of form fill me with both inspiration and envy!
Or in other words: Damn you sure do draw purty, sir. (I just got my first degree, and feel obligated to talk as if Iām being paid by the word.)

They're technical but still kinda simple. They're unique, but also kinda uniformy.
Hopefully your on board the next time the X-Men need new costumes....finally put a stop to all the madness.
You'd be a pretty keen candidate for a team reconcieve.
