Description OK, I took my hoof and removed the cover for those out there that want a more streamlined, less fluffy, design. See the 2 deviations after this for more angles and info..

I edited the photo a little to show what it would look like with a black or dark gray liner.

I hope you like it, please contact me for ordering info.; [link]

love the idea but though look uncomfortable to wear a lot of weight on your toes and your feet archs really up.
Any word on the actual wearing experience?

I'm very curious to how these work...

Are they are covers for the pony boots ive seen around (the expensive italian ones) or are these strong enough to support a person as their own shoes? Since this is just a picture of someones foot
i cant tell if the person may be sitting down.

Oh wow! I've been looking for something like this for ages.
I've seen one performer with hooves like these..and it looks like the only difference is that he has two support-like flat pieces of material that sit flush with the ground under the heel.

[link]

Maybe that's how he makes them look so natural and comfy to walk in..

Also since I can't edit. I can't help but wonder if a larger hoof would accommodate a horse shoe... but I think that might make them ultimately more unstable.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

che4u In reply to endejester [2009-03-12 01:06:04 +0000 UTC]

I already thought about doing a horse shoe but am worried about what the metal would do to a floor. If someone was to use them outdoors only I cold probably whip something up, (my degree is in metalsmithing and jewelry but but niche became costume design).

Let me know if you have any questions, thanks again!

What material is that made out of? Also, about how wide is the base of that? *trying to picture it on her size 8-ish foot*

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

che4u In reply to CaixaRelato [2009-03-12 01:04:20 +0000 UTC]

These are a secret recipe. A few of the ingredients include impregnated resin, synthetic rubber and custom paint.

This is for a small child so I am not sure what the base would measure for an adult, probably 1.5 x the wide of your foot would be the width of the hoof.

I will post my adult sized one as soon as it's worked up. I am posting a new cover, now, that I made for this base, (for those looking for a non-fluffy covering).

Hope this helps, thanks!

CaixaRelato In reply to che4u [2009-03-12 02:13:45 +0000 UTC]

I was mainly asking to find out how heavy they would be, and how wide of a base it would be to balance on. I would definitely be interested in buying a pair for a draenei costume, along with horns

alicetehfaerie In reply to CaixaRelato [2009-03-17 03:50:59 +0000 UTC]

Ooh, are you going to be a draenei for Blizzcon too?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

CaixaRelato In reply to alicetehfaerie [2009-03-17 04:48:12 +0000 UTC]

I don't know if I can make it to Blizzcon this year, but there's local Anime clubs that likely wouldn't say no to a draenei warrior showing up

If I can get to Blizzcon, totally.

che4u In reply to CaixaRelato [2009-03-12 04:55:48 +0000 UTC]

I haven't weighed this one but I can tell you that it is about the same weight as one of her sneakers... actually the hoof may be even lighter!

I make it a point to use lightweight, but strong, materials... no one like dragging around extra weight, especially with something that puts one's balance slightly off the begin with. I will weigh the hoof when I get the chance and weigh one of her sneakers to get a comparison.

I hope this helps!

I look forward to working with you!
