Yes! You must feed it, and brush it, and give it snuggles

just thought I'd leave a comment on your green pikmin pic. It looked like an interesting idea. When I was a big fan of the series I tried to picture ideas for new pikmin like those that could be used as construction materials for getting over obstacles - like some species of ants, but this one gave me an idea of a pikmin that's a throw away species that you use to poison enemies and it weakens or debilites them making them attack other enemies or something.

read your post about offering commissions... if you don't mind, how did first started?

I'm not sure what post you are referring to, but I'm assuming you want to know how you first start offering commissions?Β
Best bet, set up prices you feel your art is worth (factor in your skill, time you spend on a piece, cost of any necessary supplies... things like that). Consider how much you can reasonably ask for for what you can do Β
There is a forum thread on the General Art forum about setting up commission prices, which may offer some more helpful insight in helping you set up prices for yourself and getting into selling custom work:Β forum.deviantart.com/art/generβ¦
Good luck!

It's more about how did you go about marketting your work first...Did you just offer them in job service?
Or do you go by deviantart pages and offer them in the comments?
Or perhaps you used third party marketting adware like adcast to help your audience grow?
I am interested to know your share of experience...and maybe we can work together one day.

I just started offering them when I was in school for what is, by today's standard, pretty cheap But, at the time, the price fit with what I was capable of producing. I don't know crap about marketing my artwork, as I really only do it for hobby. I don't know anything about marketing adware either. Any pageviews and favorites come from being active, having art submitted to a couple of groups and... yeah, that's about it

Thanks alot for the explanation...
i'm currently looking for artistic venue and i can't find one...
I worry if it take too long my passion will dry out so yeah i'm scouting for solutions.

You're on an artistic venue... Now you just need to put it to use. If you want something, time isn't something you're going to worry about it. Work at it, get better, keep trying. That's really all you can do. It's not some get rich quick scheme.

I mean any way you want to market your art is going to take work. There are no short cuts.

I wasn't suggesting that asking for advice was a problem. Just that there are no quick routes to get to where you want to go You're concerned over time taking its toll on your interest in trying, but if time is even a factor for you, you may be looking at the situation from the wrong perspective

So how should i be looking at it then? if you don't mind elaborating it.
My thinking is abit conservative but right now i need a business that i am confident at sustaining and enjoying in the long run.
Else i wouldn't be able to provide for my family.

Don't approach it like a competition or a race. As far as building an audience for artwork, it's something that is a long term thing over just instant popularity on a website Some people may get there faster than others, but again, it's still time that needs to be invested into the craft. And you may very well need a day job, as a lot of artists do keep day jobs on top of honing their craft.

I wasn't talking about anything instant of course.
Like spreading brochure, i know business doesn't just flourish overtime. Popularity aside i just want to work on the things i love, with the people who share similar interest, and things related to art.
I want this to be my day job. Not some popularity contest.
