Hey, everyone, my first art of 2017 to bring to you...and yup, I'm continuing my Resident Evil-DOA Mashup horror-romance story!

Again, the idea of bringing these different verses together originated from fellow Deviant and a true meshmodding artist, !

Claire and Ada explored the dead police station...keeping horror movies in mind, they agreed that it would've been a bad idea to split up. They'd be stronger together than they could be apart. And there was that quiet mutual attraction between the women, slowly blossoming in spite of the horror, that made them need to stay together...

There was no way into the RPD's Basement levels, where they'd find areas like the Jail, Motor Pool and most importantly, the police station's Armory. They needed to find the keys to give them access, and as they fought one danger after another from horrid zombies to frightening Lickers, they reached the second floor. There they found someone else still alive: Police Chief Brian Irons, a man who seemed dangerously unstable and burnt out as he was holed up in his office. Irons asked the women if they saw a little girl, Sherry Birkin. He was basically babysitting the girl on behalf of her parents, but during the initial chaos of the outbreak when even the station was overwhelmed, she left him. Claire and Ada then exited the office, glad to be away from the creepy police chief.

Claire said, "We need to find Sherry and help her somehow!"

Ada mused, "That's sweet of you, Claire, but where can we even start looking? Chief Irons certainly didn't know where the girl is. I wouldn't trust his word even if he did know!"

Claire frowned. "Neither would I, Ada. We still need to find Sherry. I couldn't live with myself if a child needed help and I didn't do anything about it."

Ada was so tempted to argue with the ponytailed survivor. The mercenary's survival instincts yelled at her that she should first and only look out for her own safety. But she ignored that inclination...for Claire. "Okay, and we're going to work together to search for Sherry. But remember, the longer we're in this town, the less likely we'll be able to escape. And I don't just mean because of any zombies."

"Ada...?"

"The U.S. military is going to respond, if they haven't already. They'll want to ensure this virus turning people into zombies won't spread any further. There will be military action to first contain this outbreak...and then literally burn it away."

Claire nodded as she felt her anxieties rise even more than they already have...but she set them aside for Ada's sake. And for this girl Sherry, wherever she was. "I only know a few things about the military because my brother Chris served in the Air Force. I hear what you're saying Ada." Claire gave the exotic woman a gently examining look. "You sound like you've been in the military, too. Or maybe you once were?" She still hardly knew anything about Ada at all.

Ada was tempted to laugh...she answered vaguely, "Once upon a time, I was. These days, you could say I work for myself. But let's talk about each other after we're out of this town, huh?"

Claire grinned. "Okay!"

It didn't take long to find Sherry...the little girl was alone and scared out of her mind. Sherry told them she had been left with Chief Irons by her parents, William and Annette. Claire and Ada took Sherry back to Irons' office...the girl seemed to be okay with rejoining him, in spite of the misgivings of her new guardians.

But when they got back, Irons was gone! Claire and Ada felt the same thing, that it was no great loss. Sherry watched quietly as the women searched the office, and Ada was very happy to find a set of keys that would give them access to every part of the Basement. Claire saw that amongst Irons' many stuffed animals he kept as creepy trophies, he was also a collector of ancient weapons.

Claire found herself drawn to a true antique, yet a deadly one: a Japanese samurai sword on a rack. She took the sword, still in its scabbard, in both hands. Ada gazed at Claire and said, "That sword suits you, Claire."

Claire nodded slowly as she examined the blade solemnly. "When Chris was stationed in Japan for a couple of years, he learned all about Kendo and Iaido. He taught me too, along with everything else I wanted to learn to defend myself. It feels so right...simply to hold this." Claire looked at Ada and joked, "Besides, I don't have worry about running out of ammo if I kill zombies with this!"

Ada smirked. "True, but you had better fully respect your weapon too, Claire. If you want to make the katana an extension of yourself, honor it accordingly. Besides, it won't take a lot of cuts for the blade to dull."

"Yeah..." Claire's smile shifted to become much kinder...her eyes were virtually alight with curiosity for her companion. "I really look forward to knowing more about you."

Ada felt a lurch of fear...she had never, ever wanted anyone to know anything about her. But looking into Claire's eyes made her want to share herself, in spite of her fear. The lady's smirk became kind in return as she said mysteriously, "Hm...survival first, small talk later...!"
