Description Pen and pencil, 2016

Okay , I'm done with the drawing...

For those who have been hiding under a rock for the past week or two (JK) Timurlengia is an new genus of tyrannosauroid theropod dinosaur found in Uzbekistan in the Bissekty Formation in the Kyzylkum Desert , hailing from the Turonian age of the early Late Cretaceous.

From 1944 onwards, tyrannosauroid fossil material consisting of single bones has been described from the Bissekty Formation by Soviet or Russian researchers. In 2004 a team discovered a braincase , which would have anchored the dinosaur’s neck muscles and protected its brain and ear canals. The braincase was stored in a cardboard box in the Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, until tyrannosaur expert Steve Brusatte identified it as a distinctive new species in 2014

Thanks, I try to keep my sketches simple, although I do have an eye for detail. I strive to make my animals as accurate as possible

Thanks, although the original drawing had a LOT of smudges on it, so I cleaned it up on DA Muro

I hope to see more artwork depicting this new Tyrannosaur

Bissetky Formation needs more attention

Yes, it does. Originally, the Tyrannosaur in the picture was lowering it's head to look at an Exploriornis, a type of bird known from the same formation, but the bird came out really ugly. So I cut it off after scanning. I was thinking of doing more scenes with more of the Bissetky fauna in it, but that might come a little later.

I was also thinking about doing some scenes from the Bissetky fauna in the future...

Yeah. Like all of the paleoartists here on DA, I've been really excited about this new ancestor to T-Rex!
