On Sunday of March 29, the Westboro Baptist Church is staging a protest in Joplin, Missouri, a small town that was practically flattened this past Sunday. "Thank God for 125 dead!" their flyer says. (You can read it here: [link] )

"God Hates Missouri." That's funny, because Joplin happens to be right next to America's famous (and infamous) Bible belt.

I drew this on a limb, (although it took all day, ashamedly.) I know this probably won't raise awareness, but this is just plain, well, how I feel. So much disaster and pain, and after days of scrutinizing it all, with my heart twisting to and fro, I just can't understand why ANYONE would have the nerve to march in and blame the disaster on the poor little town.

I live in Missouri and was planning to go to Joplin tomorrow to help out, but a message was just sent saying that they want to clear enough stuff so that the conditions are less dangerous for volunteers. I AM very happy to say that anything Joplin has asked for (blood for the hospital, food, clothing and money) SEVERAL have helped with replenishing. Nonetheless, they can still use the help.
