Yesterday, i was drawing Link at school, and my classmate came up to me and said: "Oh! You're drawing Zelda, right? He's such a bad ass!"
I was coloring it. it was obvious it was Link at this point.
I set my colored pencil down, looked at him, and said "THIS. IS.LINK. NOT. ZELDA!"
I calmly continued coloring XD

Whelp, given that I had never played the games and no one in my family was a fan, I could only assumed it was zelda given that the games were call "The legend of ZELDA"Β
I was so annoyed when someone finally pointed out that his name was link. WHY ISN'T IT CALLED THE LEGEND OF LINK!
Also at the time I was unaware Zelda was ever a girls name but even if I knew then I'd probably would have been like "Why did they give him a girls name?"
Sadly I still from time to time call him Zelda because it took forever for someone to correct me ;-;

when i played link's awakening back in the 90s, i was like 5 or 6. i thought his name was zelda too. only to play ocarina of time and windwaker that his name was Link not zelda and my cousin and I laughed about how dumb when we were younger not to recognize "link's awakening".
