Description For my great aunt who passed away Saturday morning, with love. ♥

This is my first time really using any kind of adobe photoshop. I usually use GIMP because it's free. I don't have the money for it, so I need to hunt someone down for a serial number.
It's sooo useful. I might try a black & white version of this.

I was wondering, do you happen to have photoshop?

I do but it's not on my computer. It's Adobe Photoshop.

Aw, because I was gonna see if you'd lend me a serial number. I'm sure someone has to have one.

Since it's my sister's program, I don't know if she has the box or not. I could check for you if you want. :3

Aw, thanks! Wait, is it CS5?

Yumiko12345 In reply to CatherineHH [2012-03-02 22:14:06 +0000 UTC]

No, I think it was the most basic of Photoshop, I believe.

CatherineHH In reply to Yumiko12345 [2012-03-03 00:30:11 +0000 UTC]

You mean the oldest photoshop? Cause all CS5 means is that it's the newest version that came out.

Yumiko12345 In reply to CatherineHH [2012-03-03 02:01:15 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it's the oldest, most basic of Photoshop. I would like to try using CS5 since a lot of cool artists and photographers use it.

You can download a free trial for 30 days. That's what I have now. So, I'm scavenging for a serial number so I can just have it.

Ah, I see. I'm not sure who else has it but you can ask around. :3

Exactly. I know someone, but I don't see him much and he hardly speaks English.

I see. Have you asked any friends on dA if they had it?

No, I don't talk to much people on here constantly like you.

Yumiko12345 In reply to CatherineHH [2012-03-03 05:32:39 +0000 UTC]

I see. I guess the only option is to use the free trial until someone can share their serial number or until you have enough to buy your own.

I can't afford it on my own. It's like $300. Plus, I need Illustrator and other programs in the family. So, I need the package which is like $700.

Yumiko12345 In reply to CatherineHH [2012-03-03 18:23:39 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I see. Do you know that CS5 is the right one for photographers? Maybe you should check out different websites to make sure you want the right one?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CatherineHH In reply to Yumiko12345 [2012-03-03 19:00:35 +0000 UTC]

Well, they're all the same. It's just the newer ones have new features. Like a computer. The newest one will always be the best for anything. So, CS6 will be better than CS5 for everyone when they come out with it.
I mean, there are different programs made by the same people that are better for graphics or web design. But, all versions of photoshop are the same. It's just newer.

Yumiko12345 In reply to CatherineHH [2012-03-03 19:04:33 +0000 UTC]

True. I would like to use CS5 or CS6 (if they come out with it any time soon) since a lot of people use it and make stuff that are completely beautiful and eye-catching. I'd like to do that to some of the photos I've taken on my cruise. ; w ;

The thing about photoshop is, when you shoot in RAW, it's so much easier to fix on the computer. You know, take out the noise and fix the lighting. And it's just on photoshop. I don't know any other program that has it. Gimp won't even open the picture if you shoot RAW.

Yumiko12345 In reply to CatherineHH [2012-03-03 19:19:43 +0000 UTC]

And what do you mean by "RAW"? Could you explain that?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CatherineHH In reply to Yumiko12345 [2012-03-03 19:26:05 +0000 UTC]

Like images can be .JPEG, .GMP, .PMG. They can be RAW from the camera, if you set up your camera to shoot RAW. I just discovered it because of photoshop. It's the best thing to ever.

Yumiko12345 In reply to CatherineHH [2012-03-03 19:31:25 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I see. Thanks for explaining! Then, yes, I believe I shoot RAW pictures since they always come out as .JPEG files.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CatherineHH In reply to Yumiko12345 [2012-03-03 22:03:21 +0000 UTC]

They aren't .JPEG. .JPEG is what you don't want. However, you have to shoot .JPEG if you don't have photoshop.

Yumiko12345 In reply to CatherineHH [2012-03-04 00:31:48 +0000 UTC]

I see. Is there a way to change the pictures so they'll be compatible with Photoshop?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CatherineHH In reply to Yumiko12345 [2012-03-04 01:53:56 +0000 UTC]

The thing is you set your camera to shoot raw. Then, you can pull it up in photoshop and it's a lot easier to fix.

Yumiko12345 In reply to CatherineHH [2012-03-04 02:44:59 +0000 UTC]

I see. But right now, I have an iPod. Is there a way to do it on that?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CatherineHH In reply to Yumiko12345 [2012-03-04 07:01:01 +0000 UTC]

No, I don't think so. Just a camera. I don't think even a normal digital camera could work. I think it'd only be for those larger, professional cameras.

Yumiko12345 In reply to CatherineHH [2012-03-04 18:14:13 +0000 UTC]

Ah, okay. I'm trying to decide which professional camera would be the best to use. Do you know which one would be best?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CatherineHH In reply to Yumiko12345 [2012-03-04 19:08:39 +0000 UTC]

I think it depends. Like photoshop, the newer it is, the better. Out of the Nikons, the higher numbers are better. I don't know anything about Canons. But you should go for either a Nikon or Canon. I have a Nikon D90. I'd like a Nikon D3000, or even just a D300. But, it does the job.

Yumiko12345 In reply to CatherineHH [2012-03-04 19:41:16 +0000 UTC]

I heard that those two were the best cameras to get. Do you also have suggestions for beginning of wannabe photographers like myself?

CatherineHH In reply to Yumiko12345 [2012-03-05 06:12:29 +0000 UTC]

Whichever's cheapest. And all I can say is take pictures. The more you take, the more you figure out.

Yumiko12345 In reply to CatherineHH [2012-03-05 18:02:21 +0000 UTC]

Ah, okay. I'll start looking to see which one I can work with. x3

I wish you the best of luck on finding a way to get CS5! :3
