...beyond the rainbow, why oh why can't I?
Once again, sorry for the crap cell phone pic. I still don't have a scanner
(Those other scans were just me mooching off my friends 
)Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. Even before I had started this sketchbook project, I've wanted to draw Judy Garland. But I've forgotten, and thanks to I've remembered again!
So, with this one I just used a mech. pencil except for the obvious pure black parts for the hair. That was done with a 4B.
This took about three hours, I suppose. I think I'm really getting better! At drawing faster, at least. Before if I wanted a good picture, I'd probably have to work on it for ten days

This is the 4th drawing in my Hollywood oldies sketchbook 
I've got a great picture of Rex Harrison, so he's gonna be next

great balls o' fire that's good! a lot of the old photography had a very short depth of focus and you've captured that amazingly with the backlit hair! her expression is also perfectly playful. can't say enough about this, i love it.

Ooh, this is beautiful (: you drew her quite well, I recognized her right away. I thought this was done in charcoal at first, I love using charcoal. It's a really good picture for a cell phone picture 
So yeah, with the phone quality in mind.. I don't know if it's that, too, or maybe some values have been left out or if it was done on purpose(for lighting) on some areas, like her hand... Her fingers kind of look like a blob, and I wish there were just some very light lines to differentiate between the fingers.
Her hair came out very nice! I like the glow effect on it, maybe the background could have been darkened even a little bit to emphasize it even more because it looks lovely.
