His quite infamous for aggressively jumping the the mascot bandwagon back at the 90's with hopes to compete against Mario & Sonic.
While (some of) the games weren't awful (though that's for debate) they certainly lacked what made the two big mascots great, and instead of dying like most of the attempts at that time, the developers pushed very hard for him, This and his eccentric (in an annoying way) attitude made him quite the (in)fame, often used in parodies and videogame jokes his reputation kept him alive, even so, that after 21 years (!) they released a new game "Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back"
I don't know if we will be seeing more of him in the future, only time will tell
In Lure he's team up with Gex, Captain Claw and Conker the squirrel.

How cute. The colors really pop. And the line art is very nice.
I just bought the game last week. It arrived yesterday. I wanted the perfect edition (it had a cd, a business card and a cool postcard) but I didn't have enough money, so I just bought a regular copy.
And it's actually pretty fun. I like to explore a lot so it took like almost 2 hours until I got more than halfway through the game. I got stuck at the second space level. The soundtrack is catchy too. A lot of people say that this game only lasts for a little over an hour, but that's only if you just speedrun it.
I would say more but I feel like I'm just rambling, so sorry for the long comment.

What game did you buy, the last one?
I haven't played it yet, saw some gameplay videos. Many people like to trash on Bubsy due to his fame but the game didn't seem so bad, it could be fun if you like collecting stuff and completing all the achievements it also looked less punishing than the other games so I can see it being fun, glad you're enjoying it
