concerning ears
terran frogs have their tympani just above the ends of the lips, as part of the cheek region
Hypothesis, salarians have these as well, but the ones up above are much too small to see easily -- their is a second pair as well because each knee also has a tympanum on the side, as with terran grasshoppers and many other insects, such that most terran insects have six ears. With four ears, this gives the salarians additional means of differential detection, ranging, and differentiation of sound when they wade and swim. The upper salarian tympani are optimized for use in air, and the lower ones are optimized for use in water. Also, like our frogs, salarians can hear sounds vibrating in their lungs, where as humans cannot. Also, consider the huge eyes, the nictitating membranes, and the tapetums. Whoa! I would say good night vision, good peripheral vision, good distance vision, perhaps some extra sensitivity to light compared to most humans -- finding lights very bright when we think they are dim. Terran frogs have a passage on each side to connect the ear directly to the lung, so when they croak, the loud sound does not cause their lungs to burst. For myself, however, I do not believe that salarians can croak.
Human eyes blink downward to close. Salarian eyes blink upward to close. I asked a biologist guy. What he said makes me think the evolution of this odd upward blinking was for some special requirement of courtship. I think they can voluntarily control the amount of glistening reflection from their eyes, as well (symbiotic bioluminescent organisms inside.) Thus I also think the salarians have had a "blink and eye flash sign language," since ancient times, with the flashes perhaps in a spectrum other than visible light. This would help them considerably. Their culture must consider their eyes a great deal. STG uses suicide charges implanted in their optic nerves. We would never focus on our eyes so much as to even think of using such a weapon. Consider, when there are human suicide bombers, they don't remove one of their eyes and put in an explosive device, but I think that before there was advanced miniaturization, some salarian political extremist suicide bombers might have been so committed that they used such a technique. Further, the regal horned lizard on earth can squirt blood from its eyes -- without injuring itself -- in order to confuse its attackers and thus escape. I wonder if salarians can do this. They don't seem like they have tough skeletons, or would rely on strength and toughness, or would have "hard" martial arts styles with fierce punches and kicks, such as our karate. I think they would use a "softer," force-redirecting style something like jujitsu -- with additional hoppy sproinging!

I think you did a good job. It must be hard creating a female for a species that doesn't really have any of the usual female traits.
